Encyclis is a leading UK Energy-from-Waste business with a core operational cluster of modern Energy Recovery Facilities in the Midlands. We turn residual waste into low-carbon electricity, heat and other reusable materials, supporting the transition to a circular economy by making productive use of residual waste that would otherwise go to landfill. We are proud of our important role in society and determined to go further. We are leading the decarbonisation of residual waste treatment with the UK's first full-scale deployment of carbon capture, at our Protos Energy Recovery Facility in Cheshire. As part of a groundbreaking partnership with the UK Government's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) we have begun construction of the Protos Carbon Capture Facility, which will capture around 370,000 tonnes of CO2 each year. Encyclis has three state-of-the-art facilities operating in the UK, two further EFW projects under construction and one in development, plus a dedicated IBA processing plant. When our fleet is fully built out, we will provide 2.7m tonnes of residual waste processing capacity, delivering up to 245MW of baseload electricity and recovering up to 400,000 tonnes per year of bottom ash. With a skilled workforce of more than 250 people, expertise stretching back over three decades, extensive partnerships and continuous innovation, Encyclis provides a progressive solution for waste management.
