Energy, Fuels & Decarbonisation Expo (EFD) is the UK trade show for energy-from-waste, bioenergy, hydrogen, carbon capture, renewables and energy management, running at the NEC Birmingham on 16-17 September 2026 as part of ESS Expo (Environmental Services & Solutions Expo). Show sectors cover emission reduction technologies and CCUS, hydrogen energy and clean fuel, energy from secondary materials, bioenergy, renewable energy, equipment, systems and technologies, energy management, and consulting and professional services. Entry is free for trade visitors and one badge covers all seven co-located ESS Expo shows.

About us 9Trees was formed in 2018 by Michael Cunningham, an experienced habitat and business manager. In 2019 he was joined by Ash Kent, an experienced countryside and habitat manager. We now have a team of amazing volunteers who’ve joined us. Our vision is to tackle climate change by restoring new woodland habitats, promote biodiversity, create jobs within the countryside sector and connect more people to nature. We are a Community Interest Company, ploughing any profits back into good schemes, training and education. At 9Trees we plant in the UK, we look after your trees for up to 50 years - we don’t plant and go - and we keep you up-to-date with their progress. We continue to look after your trees, so they store as much carbon as possible, replace them when they don’t make it and you can visit your plantation. Our specialist knowledge in conservation means we’re able to create woodlands that support local wildlife and improve biodiversity. We work with local authorities and organisations to plant on carefully selected land, not destroying vital flower meadows, peat land or other Special Sites of Scientific Interest.
