Founded in 1897, Boughton Engineering is Britain's longest-established designer and manufacturer of hook loaders, skip loaders, and close-coupled trailers. As the only British manufacturer of hook loaders and the only UK-based producer of skip loaders at scale, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, locally manufactured, and supported equipment. Our products are known for their rugged strength, durability, and simple design, ensuring reliability, ease of maintenance, and long operational life. The iconic Boughton hook loader, first introduced in 1973, is available in three-axle (26,000kg GVW) and four-axle (32,000kg GVW) configurations and remains the UK's preferred choice for its longevity and straightforward operation. Our flagship Power-Reach PR18 skip loader, designed for operations at 18,000kg GVW, is widely regarded as the industry standard and is complemented by the PR12 model at 12,000kg GVW to service our customers' needs. Both hook and skip loaders feature our patented, market-leading Kwikcova auto-sheeting system, designed for seamless integration. We also produce close-coupled trailers in 20 or 22 feet, optimised for use with our hook loaders, capable of handling up to 44,000kg GTW. Supported by a highly experienced service team and UK stock parts, we offer next-day delivery and same-day collection.
