The Post-Show Team Debrief: A 30-Minute Agenda
A short, repeatable debrief that turns a team's show captures into owned follow-ups and a clear verdict.
The debrief is where a show's value is either kept or lost. Keep it short, hold it within 48 hours and use the same agenda every time.
Before the meeting
Ask everyone to finish logging their conversations. Nobody should be typing up notes during the debrief.
The agenda
Minutes 0 to 5: Headline numbers How many conversations, how many qualified, how many meetings booked. Compare against the goal in the brief.
Minutes 5 to 15: Hot leads Go through the best opportunities one by one. For each, confirm the owner, the next step and the date it will happen.
Minutes 15 to 20: Warm leads and loose ends Quick pass over the rest. Anything without an owner gets one. Anything not worth pursuing is closed.
Minutes 20 to 25: What we learned Market news, competitor moves, product ideas. Capture them somewhere the wider business will see.
Minutes 25 to 30: Verdict Was the show worth it? Would we go back? What would we change: team size, days, targets? Write the answer down.
The 48-hour rule
Agree that every lead gets a first follow-up within two working days of the show closing. The debrief sets that up. For email wording, see our follow-up email templates.
After the meeting
Send a short summary to anyone who needs it: headline numbers, top opportunities and the verdict. Revisit the verdict once deals have had time to move.
Why keep it to 30 minutes
Long debriefs drift into storytelling. A fixed agenda keeps attention on owners and next steps, which is what actually turns conversations into pipeline.
Beagle for teams brings the whole team's captures, follow-ups and a show report into one place, so the debrief starts with everything already on the screen.
